Hassan M. Yatim
CEO, Owner and President
Born and raised in Freetown, Sierra Leone, Hassan lived in the West African country until ultimately moving to Boston when he was 17. In 1987, he graduated with a degree in economics from Suffolk University.
Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer, Owner and President of HMYatim Ventures and Chop Chop Convenience Stores.
Hassan is married to Maria Elena Yatim, and together they reside in Massachusetts having raised three children Esteban, Jawad, and Nina.
OUR STORY
From determination to empire
The Yatim brothers' story is one of determination, grit, and perseverance.
Coming to the U.S. with very little and creating a family empire of convenience stores, gas stations, and a distribution company.
1993
They started the business in 1993 with their first gas station located on Lincoln Street — then an Exxon station and convenience store.
1994
After a successful first year, they opened up another Exxon location across the city on Park Avenue and Pleasant Street.
Hassan M., Tarek M. and Khalil M. Yatim worked together for twenty-eight years, to build up the Yatco brand that distributes branded and non-branded gasoline throughout New England.
2021
In 2021, the three brothers decided to part ways. Hassan M. Yatim became the sole owner of all Chop Chop convenience stores. This is where our story started and to many more chapters ahead.
